Documentation
Guides for using and operating openDesk.
This page is being prepared. What follows is a draft, not the final text — do not rely on it for a legal or contractual decision.
Key points
- Sign up, verify a domain and invite people — all from the console, no server access needed.
- One Keycloak account opens all eight apps, with no second sign-in.
- Written against the deployment running on idpro.ai, not the generic upstream docs.
1Getting started
Create a workspace, verify your domain with a DNS record, then invite colleagues. Each new person gets a single account that works across all eight apps.
2Administration
Administration happens entirely in the admin console: add and suspend users, assign roles and permissions, track domain status. Nothing has to be done on a server.
3The apps
The suite is Nextcloud (files), Open-Xchange (mail and calendar), Element (chat), Collabora (editing), OpenProject (projects), XWiki (wiki), Jitsi (meetings) and Keycloak (identity). Each app keeps the interface of the open source project it comes from.
4Updates and versions
The platform follows the release cycle of the upstream openDesk project, plus the customisations specific to this deployment. Changes that affect users are announced by email to workspace administrators beforehand.
